I am a freelance photojournalist in the Greater Philadelphia Area available for hire in all aspects of photography and videography: news, sports, features, travel, events, business stories, portraits, web shorts, documentary-style photojournalism, lifestyle photography, etc.
Over the past four years, I worked as a staff photojournalist shooting daily news and video for Calkins Media at The Bucks County Courier Times, The Intelligencer and The Burlington County Times in the Greater Philadelphia Area. I was also the videographer, director and editor of the company's beer, wine and spirits show, Cheers To You! I left the paper in April to open myself up to new jobs and experiences.
I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2012 with a degree in visual communications (photojournalism), a minor in psychology and priceless experience as a staff photographer and photo editor for The Daily Collegian, Penn State's independently-run student newspaper, for all four years of college.
In college, I traveled with a reporting class to Brazil, where we found stories for publication through the McClatchy news service in anticipation of the 2016 Olympics. I also spent 10 weeks in London interning at Archant, the largest independently-owned media company in the UK. Traveling has made me appreciate being a citizen of the world.
I love photojournalism because I believe that capturing the unnoticed intimate moments of everyday life can make a difference. I love seeing the world through a camera, and traveling with my camera has allowed me to expand my worldview while meeting people of all backgrounds.
In my spare time, I enjoy fitness and nutrition, listening to podcasts, drinking coffee, volunteering at my local SPCA and helping dogs and cats, hiking, being near the ocean and spending time with friends and family.
